Il tema scelto per l’anno 2022 è quello di “mediterranean connections” ovvero le connessioni del mediterraneo con l’obiettivo di coinvolgere i paesi che si affacciano sul nostro mare con i loro progetti e realizzazioni e con una libera interpretazione del rapporto tra il mare ed i suoi confini, il rapporto quindi tra l’Architettura, la Città, il Territorio e la Cultura dei vari paesi diventa il trait d’union tra i vari paesi del bacino mediterraneo. Il mediterraneo come ponte tra oriente ed occidente, tra sud e nord; questo bacino non è solo un luogo geografico ma un immaginario collettivo mutevole che contribuisce a influenzare la percezione dello spazio nei diversi paesi che vi si affacciano, a volte rappresentato come simile o prossimo ed altre come alieno ed estraneo per le disuguaglianze sociali, le differenze culturali ed economiche. L’Architettura diventa quindi quel legame che può accomunare anche attraverso la diversità dei luoghi. ScaLIurbani vuole essere, come sempre, l’occasione per tornare ad esprimere, attraverso l’Architettura, un forte desiderio per la qualità dello spazio nel quale viviamo, una ricchezza da tutelare, da rinnovare e da creare. Non sarà, quindi, un evento di Architettura per Architetti, ma bensì un’occasione per aprire il dibattito con le istituzioni, le imprese e la società civile; attraverso il confronto tra i vari paesi ed i professionisti da essi provenienti o attraverso le esperienze degli Architetti italiani all’estero, sarà l’occasione di un confronto sulla centralità e qualità del progetto come attivatore di una rivoluzione culturale in cui il ruolo dell’Architettura e degli Architetti ritornano ad essere centrali con la loro creatività nel vivere e nell’abitare contemporaneo.
The theme chosen for the next edition is "Mediterranean connections" or the connections of the Mediterranean with the aim of involving the countries that overlook our sea with their projects and achievements and with a free interpretation of the relationship between the sea and its borders, therefore the relationship between the Architecture, the City, the Territory and the Culture of the various countries becomes the trait d'union between the various countries of the Mediterranean basin. The Mediterranean as a bridge between East and West, between South and North; this basin is not only a geographical place but a changing collective imagination that contributes to influencing the perception of space in the different countries that overlook it, sometimes represented as similar or next and others as alien and extraneous due to social inequalities, cultural differences and economic. Architecture therefore becomes the bond that can also be shared through the diversity of places. ScaLIurbani wants to be, as always, an opportunity to return to express, through architecture, a strong desire for the quality of the space in which we live, a wealth to be protected, renewed and created. It will not, therefore, be an Architecture event for Architects, but rather an opportunity to open the debate with institutions, businesses and civil society; through the comparison between the various countries and the professionals from them or through the experiences of Italian architects abroad, it will be an opportunity for a comparison on the centrality and quality of the project as an activator of a cultural revolution in which the role of Architecture and Architects return to being central with their creativity in contemporary living.
